Motor on/off (AC field) Logger HO6-004-02 |
|
 |
xxxxThe HOBO®
Motor on/off (AC filed) logger records when devices change
between on and off xxxxby sensing the flow of
electrical current to the device. Time, date, and state for each
change is xxxxlogged. Downloaded data may be viewed as a table or graph,
with export
capability to other xxxxapplications.
xxxxMagnetic
field intensities fall off rapidly with increasing distance from their
source (motor, xxxxtransformer,
or even a single wire carrying a large AC current). This means that the
logger must xxxxbe
mounted very close to (ideally directly on) the field source. While this
may make it less xxxxconvenient
to attach the logger, it means that interference from other sources is
less likely.
xxxxSpecifications:
- Magnetic
field threshold: ~2 Gauss at 60 Hz. The logger will typically work
with AC motors drawing 1 A or more. Mount it on or close to the motor
housing or to one phase of the power line to the equipment being
monitored.
- Angular
response: the logger is sensitive to that part of the AC field that is
perpendicular to the logger's face.

Motor on/off (Vibration) Logger HO6-003-02 |
|
 |
xxxxThe HOBO®
Motor on/off (Vibration) logger records when devices change
between on and off by xxxxsensing the
vibration of the operating device. Time, date, and state for each
change is logged. xxxxDownloaded data may be viewed as a table or graph,
with export
capability to other xxxxapplications.
xxxxThe
vibration sensor will reliably detect vibrations greater than 0.05 G which
is roughly xxxxequivalent to the vibration
produced by a household air conditioner when it is on. This logger will xxxxnot
work if the vibration is too small, such as the vibration from a household
refrigerator.
xxxxA
vibration is only weakly dampened by distance so that the logger need not
be mounted xxxxdirectly on the source.
However, this leads to the potential of interference from other sources. xxxxThe
logger's threshold adjustment can be used to help discriminate against
other sources.
xxxxSpecifications:
- Vibration threshold:
adjustable ~0.05 G to 0.5 G at 60 Hz (.0001" to .001"
displacement).
- Angular response: the logger
is sensitive to that part of the vibration that is perpendicular to
the logger's face.

Light on/off Logger HO6-002-02 |
|
 |
xxxxThe
HOBO®
Light on/off logger records when lights change between on and off, storing
the time, xxxxdate, and state for each
change. Downloaded data may be viewed as a table or graph, with xxxxexport
capability to other applications.
xxxxSpecifications:
- Light
threshold adjustment range: approx. 10 to 300 footcandles (fluorescent
light). The sensitivity to incandescent light is about ten times
greater. See plot below.

State Logger HO6-001-02
|
|
 |
The HOBO®
State Logger records open and close events of electrical contacts or
equipment xxxxmovement by proximity
switch. The time, date, and state for
each event is recorded. xxxxDownloaded
data may be viewed as a table or graph, with
export capability to other xxxxapplications.
xxxxSpecifications:
- Two
inputs: a magnetic sensor mounted in the logger and an external input
cable for detecting contact closures.
- Spacing
between HOBO®
State and external magnet: closed < 1/4"; open >
3/4" (external magnet included).
- External
contact input: passive relay switch or contact closure.
